The Beech was long favoured by the ancients for it's quality when writing, for it's pliability with scrolls, it's shape and texture for pages and tablets. Beech papier properly prepared can survive for millenia if stored correctly. It has long been suspected the scrolls taken from Canterbury late third century ad were made from Beech. It is known that the venerable Bede and Cedd with his brothers, later St. Cedd of Bradwell on Sea would have used local resources with Monastries in what is now known as Northumbria, Bradwell on Sea, Upminster and Chadwell Heath the Beech tree with its superior papier qualities known, would have been one of the materials used for record keeping.

It's fruit, the "cob" nut was once a common part of most diets. The sheer volume produced by any one tree made them accessible to most people. The popularity of the Beech Tree amongst all creatures mean in a democratic society it would be voted a world tree, from the door mouse stopping to feast, the crow collecting information, the stag removing the rough from its antlers or humans pausing for a moment of feasting or reflection, this tree has no enemies it is the diplomat and peacemaker appearing as all things to all creatures. Just as all life has a guardian so do areas of sacred significance, looking to the Beech will action the angelic influence necessary for any circumstance.

The canopy produced by this tree is one of the most dense in the forest, sheltering from the rain will allow you to see the silver threads, or to use it as a parasol and lay in it's shade, to look up into the canopy and you will see through the dark green leaves the silver threads of bnwyfre that stretch out into oblivion. The Beech brings tranquillity and peace to all that seek. Along with the White Poplar it is a vocal tree it is the entertainer in the forest, it is a wordsmith, its oratory skills have no limit. If it were in school it would be a professor, on stage "sheakespear," running a country "Prime Minister." This tree simply has no bounds, it will call to you and mesmerise you, it likes to stand in a company of four and together they bring a majesty to a domain, their domain...
