Spindle tree branches can be used as a comb to take tangles out of hair, the berries can also be made into a poultice and used to get rid of headlice. This is a tree of mystery and it's true qualities need to be looked for, like the hawthorn and blackthorn it is a short life tree almost a perennial. It's seeds scattered by birds it is never far from where it started and is usually found in abundance locally.

Spindle Tree is a love tree and from where the fae will play, it's hard light wood makes good bobbins many a loom or sewing machine has had this wood loaded with thread. Like a spider making a web, this tree enables you to establish connections. To make clothing that will adorn those that are close, A Tugen is made from up to 25,000 swan feathers and bestowed upon the bard as a part of the initiation ceremony into druidry. The Spindle tree, The Swan skins and feathers, the Tailor each contributing to the magnificence and bringing together the sacred energies required for the new owner of the "Tugen."
Aoife Goddess of of rivers and seas, married Lir, God of the sea and then turned his children into swans and freed them of all constraint.

As it takes a skilled carpenter to carve a bobbin, a skilled tailor to create clothes, it takes quality or sacred materials to embelish the finished product. It is the knowledge of all that has gone on before that promotes the confidence to deal with now and to allow the future to come. We don't plan for the future, it unfolds in front of us and hopefully we are equipped to see the opportunities.

The Spindle tree teaches us to finish what was started before attempting to move on then obligations will be met and firm foundations laid in order to progress. it also gives us the humour that is needed with delicate situations, frivolity and fun will sometimes allow opportunity to enter where previously it would not.

Owl, Badger along with the sacred Salmon bring wisdom into the fold, from the Sky, the Land and the Sea bring the qualities of the power of three. The swan is long to have been known to change shape or shape shift into a human to spread love. Last but not least the salamander or dragon from the ashes came ancient energy, for new beginnings, to share love with without condition. Sometimes we need "nothing" in order to be able to start again.
