What have we been up to?
Earlier in the month saw us in Wales (UK) exploring the valleys in the hope of creating a spiritual centre that has been a long time coming. We have high hopes, dreams and plans to create a haven for all. The energy that is contained within the valleys of South Wales is like no place on Earth. We met a lovely native woman "Gwyneth" (we love you Gwyneth), who provided us with refreshments and traditional Welsh pancakes that she made herself from her own families recipe. She shared with us her family history stretching back many generations in the same Valley, she herself born and raised in the same house she lives in now. Both Sonia and myself delighted in listening to the stories and fables from this wiley old bat, with a heart of gold and the presence of an angel. On heading home we made a small detour (a couple of hours) and visited Glastonbury Tor, after negotiating the steep slopes, the steps and gates at the entrance we settled on a bench to allow others to pass us. We caused a gridlock of fellow pedestrians queing up patiently behind us, the occasional dog running ahead then sitting watching us slowly walk past as it waited for its owner. ha ha ha ha Even he looked at us with a disgruntled sigh, silently pleading for us to "just hurry up." The sheep on the hillside understood us, they came close enough to share their unique aroma of sheepdip with a husk of what smelled like Lynks. Needless to say we moved on after giving grace to their company. With the sun setting we had no choice but to find a local hotel before returning home the next day. Mid month we ventured to the Norfolk coast which is half a days drive from us, to see the baby seals. Awwwwwwww I hear you say, how cute... this was Sonias thoughts before we went. We set off at 5 in the morning intending to get there for early morning, around breakfast time. but alas, a puncture, a traffic jam (yes really) and attempting to find a toilet that was open... found us arriving just after lunch in a cold, windswept and wet little car-park with no amenities, not even a snack wagon and the friends we had planned to meet had moved on. Sonia being her ever so cheerful, lets make the most of it anyway mood. Found a local food establishment (McD) on her new phone, and off we went. Queueing up in a McD drivethrough is not how I envisaged spending my day of seal and bird watching. But sonia was not downhearted, smiling a lot with short snuffles of uncontainable laughter kept her amused as I sulkily polished my new and as yet unused camera lens. Much to Sonia's hysterical merriment and after more than half an hour of bumper to bumper movement the limited covid 19 menu did not have vegetarian options. Seething, fuming and quietly sitting and waiting for the vehicles in front of me to collect their food and get the hell out of my way caused Sonia to almost wet herself laughing, she was unable to contain her merriment... but using her new phone she found a very nice hotel with restaurant that was open and we enjoyed a well earned dinner with drinks that evening.
