A recent workshop revealed some of the Gods, Deities, Guides, Guardians, Inspirers, Angels, Dragons and energies that we call upon on a daily basis and those that have become a part of the spirit team surrounding us.
Because of the number of heathen sassenachs that attended the workshop the single most popular guide voted as being a part of our daily spirit team was... "The Parking Angel."

Arch-Angel Gabriel
Arch-Angel Gabriel can be found by looking into the depths of the White Poplar, as the leaves turn white in the autumn, to look at this tree in all its glory… Gabriel will appear on the breeze.
He stands in the West facing East in readiness to signal the end of days. His mighty wings outstretched and can sometimes be seen to be creating the breeze he floats in on. If he/she stands in front of you it is for you to surrender all fear and be ready to love without condition.
Arch-Angel Gabriel is neither male nor female and will take the shape that is recognised by you, Gabriel welcomes the change from day to night, the romance that comes with the evening sky is cherished and as romance develops, he creates harmony within.
He is the harvester of love, prosperity and health, as Arch-Angel Raphael brings forward the seeds Gabriel encourages these seeds to prosper encouraging contentment in place of complacency.
Love makes the world go round and it is Arch-Angel Gabriel who ensures it will continue to do so.

Arch-Angel Michael
Arch-Angel Michael can be found by looking to the South, looking into the depths of the Rowan Tree. The summer will bring the berries to this tree and the berries will stay until late Autumn, to look up into the branches at the sun-kissed leaves and Michael will appear in a blaze of glory.
Michael stands in the blaze of the sun, his flowing blonde hair, golden armour, scarlet shield, his eyes alive with the vibrance of youth and strength. His smile welcoming you into his embrace.
Arch-Angel Michael stands for all that is good in the world, he provides refuge for all that need help and re-assurance that all will be well once more. Look into the light after a storm and Michael can be seen, look to the south on a summers day and he can be seen as a figure of solitude and strength supporting the long days of summer.
He stands in the South looking North offering strength, peace and harmony. The strength of the lion languishing in the sun, the wisdom of the dragonfly enjoying the summer.

Arch-Angel Raphael
Arch-Angel Raphael stands in the East facing West in silent salutation he appreciates the femininity and fertility that comes from the dawn of a new day.
The Willow tree in springtime, with new leaves and branches moving with the breeze, the swan moving across a lake leaving ripples to lap the shore. Arch-Angel Raphael moves with the majesty of a hot air balloon or sylph in the morning sky, and as gentle as the butterfly settling on a petal.
Raphael stands with shield braced against the sword in front of him ready to cut away all fear, the sword is for cutting through, cutting away and releasing the fear we all hold.
The healing angel who heals and repairs the soul preparing us for the day ahead. Yesterday has gone, tomorrow is not our concern, now is what matters.

Arch-Angel Uriel can be found by entering the energy of the Birch Tree, along with the energy of the Birch he brings the power of Mother Earth.
To turn your body and face North, he can be seen on the night of winter solstice, facing you. His silhouette dances with the shadows of the midnight sun.
Just as the Birch Tree stands with the mighty stag, bringing security, safety, trust. Arch-Angel Uriel carries the revered Druids Disc of life, the disc contains the sacred knowledge, the secret inscriptions engraved for all time, waiting to be unravelled.
He is known to place the disc in the antlers of the stag knowing that the sage and the soothsayer will unravel its teachings. The stag will allow the chosen to get close enough to understand.

To call upon Bran is to bring diplomacy into the folds of an argument, to find him look into the branches of the Alder standing on a river-bank. The crow will appear when he is called, the crow is oracle and protector of truth.

Brigid is the traditional patroness of healing, poetry and smithcraft, which are all practical and inspired wisdom. As a solar deity her attributes are light, inspiration and all skills associated with fire.
Brigid is a triple goddess, maiden, mother and crone she is a representation of all things female.
Celebrated at Imbolc 2nd February as a time when ewes come to milk, half way through the winter and the approaching warm weather with the coming of Freya is imminent.

Someone seeking enlightenment and prepared to learn and teach through experiencing the pain and suffering of others.
The wisdom of the Buddisattva is knowing enlightenment can be achieved. This is a non-religious state of play where the objective is not to achieve enlightenment and become (BUDDHA) but to know enlightenment is achievable by experience and to be able to teach this aspect of true enlightenment.

The Crone is a woman beyond childbearing years, known as a wise woman, village elder or witch.
Her knowledge comes from age and wisdom handed down through the generations.
The Crone is a part of the Elder tree and is capable of the love only a grandmother can give.
To invoke the wrath of The Crone is to be disrespectful or to take without asking.
She will give willingly all she can give but only if she is treated accordingly.
The Crone brings forth the meaning of life after life, eternal rebirth, wisdom and knowledge to be treated the same.
Calling upon The Crone will invoke the love from a grandmother or fury of a woman scorned.

Queen of the dryads, elementals, faeries and the elven realms. Traditionally resides within the fir tree.
To call upon her will give the power of sight, just as the fir tree is the tallest tree in the forest and can see long distances. Druantia will enable the gift of sight, also the protection of trees, she is the mother of the evergreen, a goddess of fertility, sex and passionate encounters.

Goddess of the Horse

Epona is a Celtic Goddess associated with animals especially horses. In ancient legends she will always be found riding a white mare, side-saddle, often with a foul or dog by her side. Her hair was long and flowing. She cares for nature and anything to do with our lands and a great protector for both horses and those that cared for them.
Her worship extended throughout Europe and the Roman Empire. She had a shrine in nearly every stable within the Roman Empire and was the only Celtic Goddess to be honoured with a Roman Temple and to keep all of her attributes including her name. A feast day dedicated to her on 18th December.
Spiritual Guidance
Epona brings forth protection, nurturing and healing for the animal kingdom and all those that seek her guidance. Call upon her energy to keep you safe on your journey and travels. To bring about swiftness for changes.
You can call upon the energy of Epona to invoke abundance for you, your family and pets. She will help you see the changing seasons of the Earth and the abundance in the harvest, the forever changing circle of life.

Freya
Freya is a Nordic Goddess of love, fertility, beauty in all things, desires, material possessions, prophecy, fate, prosperity seidr, (say-der) to name but a few.
Freyja, Frigg, Frigd, are just some of the names associated to her, with the Roman empire she was found in many regions across the northern hemisphere. She is said to come in on the East wind and bring spring into existence, spreading peace, love and light across the lands.
The powers, delights and womanly wiles are celebrated by Freya. (The Lady)
Freya occupies half of the halls of Valhalla, a warrior on death can be a warrior no more, once Freya has claimed the soul it will enter eternal paradise and will no longer be called upon to serve as a warrior.

The Green Man is sometimes known as the Oak King, the confusion between the two is common because of history.
The Green Man is ancient pagan, a dryad from the forests of England. His wisdom and magical abilities have no limits, he is able to pool the knowledge and wisdom from all trees and demonstrate the love that comes from nature to you.
The Oak Tree is a symbol of Strength, Wisdom, Courage that stretches from a past life into this one and from this life into the next. The green man shares these attributes, to call upon the green man is to call upon the natural order of things to be restored.

Is a man from Greece who was recognised by many for his knowledge and wisdom his followers made him a god not once but twice?
He travelled to Egypt again developed a following for his knowledge and the people there also made him a God.
He was recognised in Greece as a thrice God.
He is said to be the founder of Alchemy and discovered a set of universal laws that are as prevalent today as when he first wrote of them more than 3000 years ago.
Hermetic philosophy unlocks three basic plains of life: Physical, Mental and Spiritual.

Lughnasadh the Sun God
Lughnasadh’s day or Lammas is the first harvest celebration of the year. Celebrated on the 1st August between the two equinoxes, it is a time to celebrate the first harvest, a time to be creative with the harvest gathered make wine from the first grape, beer from the first hops, bread from the grain and a time to give thanks for our greater achievements and welcome help for the ones we struggle with.
Lugh, Lug, Lughnasadh, is recognised at this time of the year as the fruits begin to ripen and the first harvests can be gathered, the first hay is already cut and turned and been gathered and stored. The animals are looking fatter and healthier than ever before.
Lugh the Sun God has earned praise for this season, now is a time to give thanks and praise to him for his efforts in providing these gifts to us. It is also a time to sacrifice something of personal value. Whether it be Labour or Love centred.
Give praise to this God who has provided this first harvest of the year.

Moon - Muhn
Muhn is the maiden looking down from above, the mother looking at you as an equal encouraging your flight, she is the crone looking after you, ensuring your wellness and she is the daughter encouraging your enthusiasm.
Mona is divine femininity, maiden, mother, daughter, crone, hag, whore, virgin and lover… combined to shine on the earth and encourage all feminine aspects to be glorified and empowered.
Monday is the day of the moon, call upon Muhn to encourage the power of the divine feminine.
The shadows of the night are caused by the light of the moon, stand in her light and embrace feminine allure, unleash the girl power within.

Ostara is the goddess of spring and the coming of the lambs, new life, fresh beginnings.
Ostara is singlehandedly responsible for the Easter Bunny, the spring Equinox when daylight is equal to night time. A time of the boxing hare and rabbits being key to the fertility sweeping the lands.
Boadicea first queen of England is said to have pulled a hare from her tunic and called upon the goddess to reveal the way of the battle, watching the hare run revealed the route they should take to win the war. In less than a week she ruled Colchester.
Ostara was changed by the Romans to Easter and pagan celebrations changed to Christian.

Saturday was adopted from the Roman God Saturn, it is the only day of the week adopted from Roman gods
It is a rest day, a day to celebrate self. Recognised the world over as a day of rest.
The Celts recognised this day as a day of rest and a day to indulge self in whatever practice suits the circumstance. The sixth day, a day of rest and self indulgence.

Seraphim
Seraphim are from the highest order of Angels, they surround the throne of God.
To call upon them and to stand in their presence, will cure all ills and ailments.
From the nine choirs of Angels, the Seraphim are of the highest order.
Their ability to take on many shapes, and to appear when needed, they will resemble the Polar Bear. Strength, Security, pure thought and mind are among their many attributes.
They will afford protection and allay your biggest fears.
Just as the Polar Bear has very few predators, these spiritual beings of the highest order will walk alongside you and will ensure success in all of your ventures.

To call upon Sol or Sunna or simply call upon the Sun as a giver of light life and love. To accept the strength of the sun and allow the penetrating rays of the sun to warm the soul.
The Nordic legends portray the sun as a golden chariot being chased across the heavens by the moon depicted as wolves. The golden chariot being the light with the moon bringing the shadows and wolves.

Thor the God of Thunder and who’s name is given to Thursday.
A righteous man who rides before the storm in a chariot drawn by two goats, God of thunder, lightning, storms, strength, fertility and hallowing… the art of creating sacred ground and places venerating people and making them most holy.
The Oak Tree is a symbol of strength, honour, integrity and many of the great qualities that turn men into Gods. The energies of the Oak tree create leaders of men. Look into the boughs of the Oak Tree during a summer storm and you will see Thor with Hammer reaching up into the skies.
Call Thor to your side when all else has failed and allow him to enforce what is right and change the circumstance to how it should be.

Tyr is the god of war and will assist in matters of strength when diplomacy fails.
Tyr’s day, is today celebrated as Tuesday. To call upon Teur is to call to arms the strength to stand up for what is right, and strength in what you believe in.
Tyr sacrificed his right arm to wolves in order to beat tyranny, he was the greatest fighter of all the Nordic Gods and Son of Odin.
To call upon Tyr asking for his help will invoke the testament of righteousness for the greater good of all.

Woden or Odin are one and the same person dependent on dialect, region and era. Norse, Viking and Germanic regions portray him as a wise old man with one eye, Icelandic and Olde English portray him in many different ways and with the romance of time he is portrayed as a God of Gods and supreme creator.
Odin is the God of culture, arts, war, ruler of Aesir, he had the power over knowledge and wisdom.
Wednesday is named after him and is known as Wodin’s day
To call upon Odin, look to the north, visualise him standing in front of an Ash Tree or Yew Tree, imagine the roots of the tree going deep into the Earth and Odin will appear. The champion of heroes to champion your cause.

Lughnasadh the Sun God
Lughnasadh’s day or Lammas is the first harvest celebration of the year.
