Sea Spirit - Nymphs – Mermaid – Selkie

Salmon jumping upstream a beautiful summer day, with the perfect reflection.
Salmon leaping from a stream, beautiful colours of the rainbow sparkling in the sun
Hazelnut tree, young tree with lots of stems growing from the base.

The Salmon

Bruce Clifton
Key words:
Motherhood - Leadership - Goddess

What is the spiritual meaning or symbolism of the Salmon.
The Salmon brings the experience of femininity, maid, mother and crone. Each has the experience of the generations before them.

Why does the Salmon appear now?
Salmon has appeared to assist you, emotional toil and seeking wisdom. The salmon brings generations of wisdom to help the transition from maid to mother, from mother to crone.

How do I call upon Salmon?
Call upon the Salmon around the winter solstice, a time of new beginnings. The salmon will ensure fertility and prosperity for the coming year.

Dream meaning of the Salmon.
If the Salmon appears in your dreams your journey will be smooth.

The Salmon has been revered and acknowledged by the whole of the western society since time began. The Celtic people deemed it to be sacred and planned for their arrival come Autumn.

Along with the Ogham symbols, pictographs of salmon would be carved into stone, The well of Urd is said to have Salmon swimming waiting for Hazlenuts. Myth and legends are in abundance with this most sacred of fish and with each Myth and Legend comes a new truth.

If the Salmon has come into your life, it is there to assist you, help you with a struggle you face. Emotions will be running high, nerves will be fraught, a female or females around you will be seeking attention.

The Salmon is a survivor, spending it's life at sea yet coming inland to reproduce. It returns to it's birth place to spawn and reproduce, it's heritage is traced back to the beginnings of history. Our ancestors are important in times of trouble it will be ancestral wisdom that guides us.

The Salmon can spend up to four years waiting in fresh waters before journeying out to sea, it will spend up to seven years at sea before returning to its birth place. The journey is the adventure, the torrents and slip streams of the river with ancient knowledge guiding the salmon back Home. Whilst the males and females travel home together it is the females that after reproducing will venture out once more to the open seas, leaving behind both offspring and partners.

A trinity of the Moon, the Sea and the Salmon are female life force streams at its finest, with each providing reassurance to the other that all is well. Energy for all spectators to enjoy, take note, absorb the influences and to learn by the examples displayed and being demonstrated.

The Salmon is a survivor, despite impossible odds the Salmon returns from the sea to fresh water streams inland. Swimming upstream and able to swim against the current with ease, able to jump the height of a man to achieve its goal. With one goal to focus on, its destiny is secure. Adversity is a fresh challenge that leads to growth, with the Salmon in your path, dreams, energies, strength will be provided along with wisdom, to persevere where others would have given up.

Call upon the energy of the Salmon for long term projects, a single goal is the objective, along with freedom, success is assured.
