The Art of Alchemy

Bruce Clifton
Definition of Alchemy:  A process of transformation, creation, or a combination of natural elements that produce a desired result.

To be able to understand the elements Earth, Wind, Fire and Water, To understand the influences of the Sun and the Moon, the turning of time with night and day, 1st week or second? the light fortnight or dark fortnight? the light half of the year or dark half of the year? winter solstice or summer? To also understand the influences of wood and metal? The understanding and blending of physical and meta-physical energies.

Alchemy in the western world was held up for redicule from the 17th century, it was then replaced with modern science, in essence lore was replaced with law… All that is natural was replaced with logic.

Even today the beginning of any scientific experiment is to prove there is no natural influence. Recording the moon phase, wind direction, season and barometer reading in order to remove those findings from the experiment being conducted is not uncommon.

Does the understanding of alchemy have a place in todays world?
To ask any emergency Doctor starting work on a rainy night with a full moon what patients they expect to be dealing with tonight and they will tell you “the majority will be dementia related, followed by water related illnesses.” (water infections, arthritic pains)

Modern watches now include a moon phase facility within their workings because of the increase in interest in all that is natural.

Something as basic as a church can be used as a compass. To look at the direction it is facing and you will probably be looking towards the East. Look at the moss on a tree and it will be on the North side, look at a flower in the morning and it will lean South, look at birds flying on a spring morning and they will probably be heading West.

So is it coincidence? Do we relate to the moon, location or direction we face at any given time? Can we also take into account the animal that caught our attention or the bird that we heard. Should we consider the potential of the animal and the bird being close to you at this time?

The horse is seen as a messenger, a bringer of good fortune. The swan is the epitime of all things female so there is a possibility of an announcement of a baby coming into your vicinity and quite soon, the obvious connotation is that it is a girl.

I do not believe in coincidence, my belief is one based on synchronicity, and the understanding of all that is natural.
If we can read and understand what is happening around us then our lives will be more enriched than they was before.

North       / East       / South        / West - Horizontal
Earth       / Water     / Fire           / Wind - Aether
Winter     / Spring    / Summer   / Autumn - Year
Lunar      / Dawn     / mid-day    / Dusk - Vertical

be well
Namaste
Bruce
